Incoming Voice Rules
The Phone Numbers page allows you to configure rules on what you want the engageSPARK platform to do when you receive an incoming SMS, an incoming voice call, or a missed call to your virtual number or shortcode. To start configuring rules though, you first need to have a virtual number or a shortcode on your engageSPARK account. You have 4 options for configuring rules to your virtual number or shortcode: Incoming SMS Rules, Incoming Voice Rules, Incoming Voice Campaign, and Incoming WhatsApp Rules. This article focuses on Incoming Voice Rules.
Let’s Start Configuring Incoming Voice Rules
Configuring Voice rules tells us what you want us to do when you receive a voice call to your virtual number or shortcode. As soon as a virtual number or shortcode is added to your account, you can find it when you click the Phone Numbers page.
1. To get started, click the Configure Phone Number button on the number you want to add rules to.
Note: You can have multiple virtual numbers in your account.
2. Select Incoming Voice Rules tab.
3. Then, you can set what action you want us to take when you receive a voice call on your phone number from the Actions Menu dropdown. You can add as many actions as you want for your rule.
Note: This is where you can set-up a miss call opt-in or miss call trigger. Just select Subscribe contact to a campaign from the Actions Menu and select the campaign you want the contact to be subscribed into if they call in. When you set this up, the system will automatically not answer the call – instead, it will hangup and trigger a call back or an SMS back depending on the campaign you have selected in the Subscribe contact to a campaign from the Actions Menu.
4. Lastly, hit Save button .
