Account Balance Notifications and Spend Limits
In this article, we’ll walk you through how to set up and use your account’s balance notifications and spending limits.
In your engageSPARk account, click the dollar icon ($) next to your current account’s balance on the upper right.
This will bring you to the billing page. From here, click the “Edit Notifications and Spend Limits” button.

Daily Spend Notification
This allows you to set a daily spending limit for your account. This feature will not stop your SMS messages, voice calls, WhatsApp messages, and airtime transactions; it will only notify you that you’ve reached your set amount for your daily spending.
By setting a daily spending limit, you can closely monitor your budget and receive notifications when you approach or reach that limit. You can choose the daily spending limit that suits your budget. In the above screenshot, the system will send you an email when you’ve spent $75 (USD) for the day. It sends notifications based on UTC, and you can disable this feature by setting the limit to 0.
To enable this feature, you need to either be the “owner” of the account or have “manager” access.
Maximum Daily Spend
This is another layer of protection for your account, separate from your Daily Spend Notification limit. When you hit your set maximum daily spend for the day, all your SMS messages, voice calls, WhatsApp messages, and airtime transactions will fail during that day. This feature ensures that your account does not exceed a specific maximum daily spending cap. In the above screenshot, the system sends you an email and all transactions will fail when you reach $100 (USD) spend for the day. It will refresh at midnight UTC and from there on, all your SMS messages, voice calls, WhatsApp messages, and airtime transactions will again be allowed to go out until you reach your maximum limit for the day.
Only users with “owner” access to the account can update this setting.
Low Balance Notification
This now allows you to set a low balance threshold amount that the system will look at to know when to notify you that it’s time to top up to avoid campaign disruptions. Your SMS messages, voice calls, WhatsApp messages, and airtime transactions will continue to go out as long as you have money in your account. However, the moment your balance hits $0, all transactions will fail with an error “insufficient balance”. From the above screenshot, the system will send you an email the moment your balance goes below $20 (USD).
If you have autorecharge enabled, this system will ignore any amount set in your low balance notification. Instead, it will prioritize what you’ve set in your autorecharge settings.
